<p>The beginning of May is always the start of 5k, 10k, 1/2, and full marathons, and while we don&#8217;t hold classes specifically geared toward running, it&#8217;s always fun to test your cardio endurance and fitness by participating in a race. And if that doesn&#8217;t sound like fun, many road races raise funds for great causes!</p>
<p>LeanBody Bootcamps will be participating in at least one, possibly two official races this year: <strong>The Jesse James Road Race in Garretson</strong>, and the <strong>Pumpkin Festival Road Race in Edgerton</strong> (date TBD).</p>

<h5><span style="color: #ff0000;">The Jesse James race is on June 22 at 8:00 a.m. and all bootcamp participants are invited (there will be no class in Edgerton that morning)!</span></h5>

<p>For those who are not regular runners, and would like to train for this, I have created a 4-week program leading up to the race day. This program assumes that you&#8217;ve been doing one or more of the following: 3x+ per week bootcamp class, running semi-regularly, OR have included sprints as part of your cardio and strength training.</p>
<p><em>*This program is not for beginners. You must have been exercising at a high intensity, regularly, for at least 6 months or more. This program is not intended to treat or cure disease. You assume all risk for following this program and do not hold Carrannmor Fitness or its employees liable for any injury that may be caused by this program. Please see a physician prior to beginning any exercise program.</em></p>
<p>Carrie and Jody will be following the program to train for the road race, and you&#8217;re welcome to jump in!</p>
<p>The program:</p>
<p><em>(Also includes laps around a track. 1 lap=1/4 mile on most tracks.)</em></p>
<h6><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Daily schedule</span></strong></h6>
<p><strong>Monday/Wednesday:</strong> Bootcamp +/or Strength Training</p>
<p><strong>Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday:</strong> Run (Split into Day 1, 2, 3 each week)</p>
<p><strong>Friday/Sunday:</strong> Off +/or Walking, Biking, Easy Strength</p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Week One:</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>Day One</strong>: Run 1/2 mile, Walk 1/2 mile. Repeat 2 times for 3 miles total. (2 lap run, 2 lap walk- three times through total)<br />
<strong>Day Two</strong>: Run 1/2 mile, walk 1/2 mile. Repeat 2 times for 3 miles total. (2 lap run, 2 lap walk-three times through total)<br />
<strong>Day Three</strong>: Run 3/4 mile, walk 1/4 mile. Repeat 2 times for 3 miles total. (3 lap run, 1 lap walk- three times through total)</p>

<p><strong>Here&#8217;s what LBB will provide</strong>:</p>

<li>Weekly weigh-ins and measurements</li>
<li>Meal Plan accountability (must either send a meal plan through email or provide a public food journal link)</li>
<li>Phone or email support for questions or temptations(call us instead of raiding your fridge!)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Quick Rules:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>You MUST have a beginning AND ending weight &amp; measurement (either body fat percentage or inches)</li>
<li>You must have your measurements/weight be the same as or lower than your beginning weight/measurements</li>
<li>You must not use unhealthy food or water practices to change your weight</li>
<li>You must have your beginning weigh in no later than Tuesday, December 6 and your ending weigh in no later than Tuesday, January 10.</li>

<p>After an amazing 500+ votes, the decision was made very clear! One person came out ahead of all the others for the best transformation.</p>
<p>First, though, I want to thank you for the time you took out of your  day to participate: whether it was the wonderful comments that were left  on the contestants&#8217; entries, following along via Facebook or in class,  or just voting- you made a difference! Thank you!</p>
<p>I hope you took time to read through the entries left by each  contestant. They were all very inspiring, and I hope they helped you  along in your journey as well!</p>

Bobbi Jo&#8217;s amazing 26 pound weight loss, combined with her witty and  fun essay, meant that she had a GREAT transformation.  She has had an  amazing journey so far, and has been an inspiration to many.  Bootcamp  was just one of the tools she used to get her great results- she was  also willing to keep a disciplined eye on her nutrition, exercise up to  two times a day in a smart, healthy manner, and learn that this is a  lifestyle change, not a quick fix.  Congrats, Bobbi Jo!</p>

<li><strong>Early morning class offerings!</strong> In addition to our 9:00 a.m. Wednesday/Saturday classes (June &#8211; August only, Tuesdays/Thursdays at 6:30 a.m.)</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">In Garretson:</span></strong></h4>
<ul>
<li><strong><a href="http://carrannmorfitness.com/updates-and-information/leandragons-kids-fit-camp/">LeanDragons KidsFit Camp</a></strong>, a 4-week camp for ages Kindergarten through 12th grade (see site for details)</li>
<li><strong>Smokin&#8217; Toes Walkers</strong>, a walking class that incorporates bodyweight training (Sundays and Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. starting June 1)</li>
<li><strong>Smokin&#8217; Toes Runners</strong>, a running class that incorporates bodyweight training (Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:00 a.m. starting May 31)</li>
</ul>
