The Next 26 Days

Posted by:

Right now, some people are panicking.  There are literally 26 days before Thanksgiving, which is just shy of 4 weeks.  That means it’s only two months before the end of the year, when New Year’s Resolutions rear their ugly head again, and most people haven’t gotten around to doing this year’s resolutions.

It has also become well-known that in the 4 weeks in between Thanksgiving and Christmas, the average person gains 10 pounds.  This prospect doesn’t sound a lot of fun, ...

Eating Well or Forget It?

Posted by:

One of the things that seems the most difficult when it comes to weight loss is the nutrition. We can talk about it all you like, but until the following things are followed, a workout with Carrannmor Fitness is just going to be canceled out in the weight loss department.

1. Drink More Water.

Go do it right now. Go on. I’ll wait until you’ve had some.

There. Now you’ll feel better. Minimum requirements for water intake ...

Thinking

Posted by:

I said something to someone at the gym today that pretty much just clicked with me, probably because all I had to do was read two words off the Fit Yummy Mummy blog: past the halfway point. What I said was, while watching the tv show ‘You Are What You Eat’ on BBC America, was this: “The people who are on this show start off pissing and moaning, often quite rebellious, and the first four weeks for them are ...

Supportive Nutrition?

Posted by:

It can be difficult to even understand what supportive nutrition is, let alone actually do it. However, if we can figure out how to eat supportively, we are going to see our results head through the roof.

Most people eat a diet that is very high in processed foods. Even those of us who say we eat “healthy”! Think about it: have you eaten cereal, toast, crackers, a “Lean Cuisine” microwaveable meal, or a soda pop at all ...

What's your water cooler like?

Posted by:

If you were to go to your “water cooler” right now and listen in on the conversation, what would it be like?  Would it be the latest office gossip, or the tv show everyone watched last night?  Chances are, much of that conversation would somehow lead to something negative- a put-down about a co-worker, or a negative comment about the show.

Negative comments are everywhere.  It’s hard to escape them, and it’s especially hard to escape if you work in an ...

Politically Incorrect Fat Loss Works

You know who is your worst enemy in the fight against fat?

Well-meaning fitness professionals that don’t want to make you feel bad for being lazy and eating crap. That’s who.

They write articles about how “diets are bad”, how you can lift soup cans and get fitness model arms, and how you should exercise in the nice and easy “fat burning zone” to get results. Basically, they give you what ...

Do I Sleep?

Posted by:

A question was asked of me today: Do I sleep?

The answer is yes. It seems that no matter how much I’m trying to accomplish, no matter how much has got to be done yet, my body will drag me (even kicking and screaming) into bed to sleep by a decent hour. My hubby says I’m like Cinderella’s pumpkin, since I don’t last past midnight except on rare occasions. The reason I write this is because sleep is incredibly important on ...

Eating More Than You Thought?

Posted by:

It’s amazing how one can truly eat more calories than they thought they were. I found this site courtesy of the Motivation to Move (MTM) forums:

Both of these ...
